Dental.m Laser Toothbrush Cures Sensitive Teeth
(Published in Korea Times on 11 June 2009)

Reduce painful symptoms of sensitive teeth with the world's first laser toothbrush, Dental.m.

The first of its kind in the market, Dental.m laser toothbrush is developed by Korea's leading medical equipment manufacturer, M&H. Developed to treat sensitive teeth (dentin hypersensitivity), Dental.m laser toothbrush is approved for safety and effectiveness by the American Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Dental.m laser toothbrush is a medical device with a laser output that treats the cause of tooth damage directly, resulting in visible restoration of the dentin (including receded gum). It uses the same technology used in dermatology and plastic surgery - low-level laser - which counts amongst its other purposes, to repair skin wounds, gum disease, normalization, disinfection and tooth whitening.

Dental.m laser toothbrush radiates a 635nm/7mw low-power semiconductor laser, powered by a 1.5V DC battery. The treatment begins by directing the toothbrush at a 45-degrees angle to your gums, allowing the laser to be perpendicular to your tooth.

Each treatment lasts 5 minutes and should be done at least twice a day. The toothbrush head is detachable so that users may change the brush head every two months to maintain effectiveness and good oral hygiene. The battery replacement cycle is an average of 60 days.

Professors at Seoul National University Dental Hospital and Professors of Orthodontics and Dentistry at St Mary's Hospital conducted clinical trials amongst 87 people over a period of 50 days in February concluded that Dental.m laser toothbrush is effective in treating and reversing the cause of dentin hypersensitivity (sensitive teeth), with results of at least 77% reduction in tooth aches and pains.
